El objetivo es su puesta en valor, protegiéndolo y convirtiéndolo en un foco de atracción. Se plantea un proyecto en varias fases. En un principio se persigue el acondicionamiento paisajístico de la zona, generando nuevos recorridos peatonales, zonas de estancia a la sombra, y zonas de ajardinamiento, buscando que estas intervenciones no tenga un elevado coste. El objetivo es completar el proyecto en el futuro. Las siguientes fases se ocuparan de la recuperación del propio embarcadero, y de los túneles de mineral, para acabar integrando todo este espacio en el área urbana de águilas.
